The link below shows some of the fitness testing used and the training preparation required for entrants undertaking Victorian Police training.  You will gain an insight to how fitness testing is used as a tool to determine where improvement is required and what type of training should therefore be performed.

This link highlights how fitness testing is not only used in sporting clubs but also for job training.  This video shows some unique fitness tests that are applicable for someone training to be a firefighter.   Can you recognise some of the tests?

Choose an elite sporting club and research the following areas:
- How do they determine what type of training will be performed prior to the beginning of a season?
- What factors must they consider when testing at the beginning and end of season?
- Outline how training will be undertaken including activities, time taken, repitition, intensity etc.
- How does the club determine whether training has been successful or not?
