Reason For Learning

It is important as an athlete to understand the response the heart and lungs produce when exercising and how this can be improved.

Learning Intention

Students will be able to calculate stroke volume, heart rate, cardiac output, tidal volume, respiratory rate and minute ventilation and understand how this differs between trained and untrained athletes.
