What Athletics events are included at an Olympic level?  There are 24 events, can you name them all?

It's a universal symbol known to many people.  
             
Do the rings from the Olympic logo represent anything?

Perhaps come up with a team chant/song that will encourage fellow team mates when partaking in activity.

The modern Olympic games are considered the world's foremost sports competition.  Research into the history of the Olympic games dating back to the Ancient Greek's.  
- What other derivatives are there of the Olympics?  
- How many countires compete?
- How many events are there in the Olympics?

Students will be divided into even teams.   They will need to choose which 'Country' they are from, nominate their Olympic Captain and decide which competitors will compete in each event.    

Part 1 - Introduction/Warm Up
Explanation on how the Mini Olympics will run.  Countries will then organise their own appropriate warm up.  

Part 2 - Skill Application
Mini Olympics - Events
- 50 m
- 100 m sprint

- Standing Long Jump
- Shot Put
- High Jump
- 200 m (Footy Goal to Footy Goal)
- 20 m Agility Ladder Hurdles
- Discus
- Vertical Height Jump
- Javelin
- 400 m (1 x Oval Lap)

- 800 m (2 x Oval Lap)
- Triple Jump


Teams must select their representative for each event.   No more than 3 events can be entered by a competitor

Part 3 - Medal and Closing Cermonies
Award teams/winners with medals, congratulate competitors.
