You should be able to accurately pass and catch a ball utilising a Lacrosse stick.  You should be able to name the parts of the 'crosse' (the stick) as well as identify basic teaching cues for throwing and catching.

You should also have a grasp of the fouls and rules of the game

Part 1 - Warm Up:
'Rats and Rabbits'
- Group split in two teams and players face each other in two lines 3m apart.
- One line is called “Rats”, the other “Rabbits”.  Teacher/student calls out either “Rats” or “Rabbits”.
- The named team then turns and runs to the end line while the other team tries to tag them.
- Players who catch someone on the opposite team before reaching the end safe zone get 1 point.
Modification:
- Repeat activity, however each player must now carry a softcrosse stick with a ball inside whilst running.

Part 2 - Skill Progression/Development
'Loose Ball Chase'
In groups of 3-4.  Aim is to regain possession of the loose/ground ball.
- Player 1 (the feeder), rolls the ball out away from players 2 and 3.
- Aim for either player is to get to the ball 1st and gain possession.
Modification:
- Can add another pair to teach players to communicate as a ‘team’
- Increase/decrease of ball from players
- 2 v 1 scenario

'10 Pass'
1 x attacking team, 1 x defending team.  Attacking team tries to pass the ball to one another without losing possession of the ball.  1 point is scored if they can successfully pass amongst each other 10 times.  Defending team are obviously trying to intercept the pass and regain posession of the ball.  Create a number of smaller teams and set up a Round Robin.
Rules:
- Cannot pass back to the player who passed to you.
- Must stay within playing space, otherwise turnover of possession.
- No illegal contact or checking
- First to 5 points wins.

'Hoop Ball'
Teams must pass the ball a number of times and try to score by having someone catch the ball within the hoop or designated area.  Create a number of smaller teams and set up a Round Robin.
Modifications:
- Change the number of passes needed before attempting to score
- Cannot pass back to the player who passed to you
- Everyone in the team must have possession to score.
- Make the designated scoring area smaller or bigger.
