This link will provide students with an overview of the rules of cricket to ensure game play can be undertaken without misunderstanding of rules.

Students to umpire and ejudicate a real game of cricket while students play to further develop their knowledge of the rules and regulations.

While students are undertaking a game of cricket they will be assessed on their ability to bat, field and bowl through direct observation.

Students need to analyse a world class cricket player (of their choice) and determine whats makes them a superior athlete to a beginning cricketer.  They need to identify the following areas:
- Is the player a specialty player?
- Technique
- Training

Part 1 - Warm Up:
'Bowler Goaler'.
Description:
- 2 x teams.  2 Pitches set up.  On each end of each pitch are 2 coned off areas, wicket end and bolwing end.  
- Teams allocate a bolwer.  Only bowler is allowed inside bowling square and most bowl down pitch at wickets.  The bowling delivery/ball cannot be intefered with until after it has passed stumps.
- Teams try to get the ball to their bolwer who has an oppurtunity to bowl at the stumps.  
- Students are not allowed to stand inside wicket area, but are allowed to intercept or retrieve the ball if it has misssed the stumps to conitune play.  
- Teams score points by hitting allocated wickets. Have two pitches set up.
- Students cannot run with the ball
- Can change how teams pass the ball, (underarm, overarm etc)



Part 2 & 3 - Skill Development/Application:
Match
- Play a Cricket match, with two equal sides, implementing all rules learnt over the unit.
- Team with the highest score wins.  
- The match is entriely student driven.  All players will need to umpire an over of the match making all calls, decisions, selecting next bowlers/umpires and making sure the game runs smoothly.  
- Any wide or no ball delivery = free hit off batting tee
- Force retire students who make more than 30 runs
