Part 1 - Warm Up

'Around the World'

Student split into two teams, half on one side of the table the other half on the other side. Once a student hits the ball over the net, they run around the table in a clockwise direction and join the back end of the other line. The idea is to see how high of a rally can be made.

Rules can be changed where students can make smaller groups, or can be eleiminated if they play a bad shot or lose a point

Part 2 - Skill Development

Introduce rules of the doubles game. Rally between partner to promote good hand eye coordination and skills.

'Placement Drills'

Groups of 3, two players on one side and the other player at one point of the other end of the table.  Doubles players practice alternate hitting to the same retrieving player (same spot) over and over again.  Aim to get 5-7 shots in the same location.   Then switch positions

Part 3 - Practice Match (Doubles)

Students play a practice match to familiarise themselves with how doubles play works. Those students who are rotated off are to coach and provide feedback in terms of shot selection and technique.
