Todays activity: Review the Galvanic cell practical using this online simulation and propose an experiment to consider the effect of one variable. Write an aim and a hypothesis for this new experiment. Draw on the resources above to consider how to write a quality piece.

Writing a testable hypothesis

Your hypothesis is what you predict will happen in an experiment. A simple format is "If this is true then if I do this, then I predict this will happen"

A good, testable hypothesis should identify independent and dependent variables.

See the two Practical Reports and VCAA sample poster in "What you already know" for some examples.
