Exploring the greenhouse effect

1. Spend a few minutes playing the greenhouse effect game. Take note of how the game works - how do you win/lose/increase temperature of earth? What do the different types of light represent? How are greenhouse gases represented?

2. Explore the Phet simulation (or any other greenhouse effect resources on this learning bite)

3. On your table group, draw a diagram that illustrates how the greenhouse effect occurs, and explain:

  • Why the greenhouse effect is important for life on earth
  • How the greenhouse effect may differ from the 'enhanced' greenhouse effect.
