With past chapters on probability, you have used worded problems with formulas to figure out the probability of a certain type of situation. What you will do with the knowledge you now know, is put it into the form of a diagram instead of just using numbers.

Log onto Manga High and complete the challenge: Carroll and Venn diagrams

As an exit pass, students must correctly complete the first 5 questions from Chapter 15F on Venn diagrams.

If you have not finished the questions for 15F in class they can be completed for home learning.

Discuss what Venn Diagrams are, braintstorm on the board:

  • what the look like
  • how to construct them 
  • what we use them for
  • how they are useful

We will go over an example of Venn Diagrams for a worded problem. As a class together we will to figure out how to use it and apply it to the question.

Once completed go onto completing Chapter 15F. Questions 1 - 8 and 10 - 12
