By the end of this class it is expected that you will be able to solve the following equation for x:

2(4x + 5) = 18

Students will get onto attempting the some basic equations they have been practising on Manga High. They will need to log on first using the link:

Discuss with about expanding of brackets, revise over how to do it and get students to do the basic first question on 4B.

Once students have finished their equations for the first question, go over how to apply the skill of expanding brackets to linear equations/finding the pronumeral.

Give students 2 examples on the board, have them follow and copy them down as reference.

Students can go on with questions from Chapter 4B.
