Using the template provided, use modelling clay to show:

Model 1: Basic meiosis

Start with 2 or 3 pairs of homologous, replicated chromosomes. Make sure your homologous pairs are different in colour to reflect the maternal and paternal contributions.

 

Model 2: Crossing over

Alter your original model to show crossing over at the appropriate point in time. Follow the changes to the chromatids though to see what combination of DNA the sperm/egg cells will have.

 

Model 3: Non-disjunction

Alter your original model to show crossing over
