What is a dilation? How do we know when an objet has been dilated? Is it the same as a congruent figure? Are they enlargements or reductions?

As a class we will discuss what the deifnition of dilation is and work through a few examples together.  The questions above will be brainstormed on the board to help us understand the difference between the definition of a congruent shape and dilation.

The link below gives you questions to work through about dilation and how you dentify its structure. Work through these in pairs and at the end of class we will discuss the answers.
