When reading or listening to an issue in the media, think about the following discussion points that you can bring into class.

What is the article about and who is involved?

Is it a local news item or international? If international, how does it differ from legal issues here in Australia?

What are the main points of conflict, contention or issues in the article?

Is there a law involved? What is that law and do you agree with it?

Has there been an outcome? If not, what do you think that outcome will be and why?

What are some of your opinions about the issue or point of conflict?

How do the issues in this article relate to or impact on the broader society?
