AREA OF STUDY 1

EXPLORATION PROPOSAL DRAFT

  • An exploration proposal is an essential written and visual task that identifies and communicates a direction for your design process. It must be prepared prior to the design process.
  • Draft should be approximately 2- 2.5 pages long (excluding images).
  • Needs to be word processed and attached to the front of your diary
  • Written in future tense not in past tense
  • Should be engaging, personal and creative

 

WHAT MUST BE INCLUDED IN THE EXPLORATION PROPOSAL

You must include all key knowledge and skills when developing your individual exploration proposal. These include:

  • Conceptual possibilities (include an explanation of the ideas to be explored)
  • Explanation of the focus and subject matter to be explored
  • The art forms to be explored
  • The sources of inspiration to be investigated, analysed and interpreted in relation to your individual ideas
  • The aesthetic qualities to be explored in relation to your ideas
  • The materials and techniques to be explored and how these will support the communication of ideas
  • The inclusion of a plan
  • The use of appropriate art language and terminology
  •  

HOLIDAY HOMEWORK

Complete a draft of your exploration proposal and your exploration proposal work plan. This should be both written and visual and submitted in a word processed document.

Read the examples of other students exploration proposal.

Refer to attached handout for example of exploration proposal and example of work plan. You MUST have this completed prior to the commencement of school in 2015.

*Failure to complete and submit will severely disadvantage you in the first 2 weeks of semester.
