During this class, you will be directed to the ABS site:

http://www.censusdata.abs.gov.au/census_services/getproduct/census/2011/quickstat/0

This part of the site gives very quick, easy to understand overviews of state data. You can also search suburbs to find out the statistical information for that area.

Form groups of no more than 4.

Select a suburb nearby: Templestowe, Lower Templestowe, Doncaster, Eltham, Warrandyte, Bulleen are some examples.

For your suburb, create an A3-sized visual display of key information for that suburb. When doing this task, consider:

What is important information to display?

What is the best way to display this kind of data?

To what other data can we compare this suburb's data? In other words, does it make sense to compare the stats you find with the rest of Victoria? Or with another nearby suburb?

This task must be completed in 1 lesson, so use your time wisely!
