Watch this video to give you an insight into the inside of an atom and then answer the following questions:

1.) Explain the structure of an atom.

2.) What is the charge of electrons, neutrons and protons and what symbol is used for each?

3.) Why don't electrons leave the atom?

4.) Why are neutrons an important part of an atoms structure?

5.) What is atomic mass and what unit is used to measure it?

Students research what parts are inside an atom and how to model them.    They are to display this information on a poster and include the following:

- Choose an element from the periodic table

- Provide the structure of the element including Proton, Neutron, Electron, Nucleus and try to show comparative sizes.

- The atomic mass and atomic number of your element.

- Properties of the element and what it is used for.

- Interesting facts about the element.
