1) What is an ion?

2) What is an isotope?

3) Why is it that atomic number on the periodic table is rarely a whole number?

MAKING ATOMIC MODELS

Choose an element from 1-20 on the Periodic table.

With the materials available, make an atomic model, showing location and relative sizes of protons, neutrons and electrons. You could use the approach shown here.

Create a plaque on coloured paper showing your element's symbol, atomic number and mass number.
