The PERIMETER of a 2-dimensional shape is the distance around its outside edge. For example, a square has four equal sides. If one of its side measures 2 cm, then its perimeter is 8cm.

Ready to do some practise with some slightly harder questions? Here are some basic questions to try.

Feel like more of a challenge? The perimeter of some triangles is made harder to find if not all side lengths of the triangle are given. If the triangle is a RIGHT-ANGLED triangle, you could try using Pythagoras' Theorem to find the length of the unknown side. NOTE - this only works for right- angled triangles!!!!!
