Expository essay review
checklist :
1. Do you have at least two body paragraphs, one based on Edward Scissorhands, the other based on Billy Elliot?
2. Has the teacher explained the introduction to you and do you have this?
3. Begin writing your body paragraph using your supplementary text.
4. Work on the conclusion.
5. Check your vocabulary - have you used language well?
Examples - Edward's life is insular until he leaves the mansion with Peg.
Jim is callous and selfish and forces Edward to leave.
Jackie is finally jubilant and accepting of his son's success as a ballet dancer in London.
Essays will be collected at the end of the class.
They are to be completed in class and not at home.
NEXT CLASS - The Black Death in Asia, Europe and Africa, with a focus on Europe.
Historical context - the fourteenth century.
