Create a method to clean pond water as much as possible during class, using the experiment on the last page of the Purifying water link above.  Materials available are sand, rocks, plastic cups and pond water. 

Write up the scientific method to fully document your experiment.  Results should include the appearance of pond water at the beginning, and how water quality changes during the experiment.  Research pond water and water purification techniques to add to your writing in the discussion section. 

Conduct further experiments at home to see if you can improve your purification technique using other household items.
