Read through the link below BEFORE the dissection.  The animals we are using have been bought fresh, and have not been preserved, so parts of the text will not apply.

In class, answer the introductory questions - Why do we do dissections? What are the ethical considerations of dissection?  Also write notes on dissection tips, skills and safety.

For the class experiment page, this will be the dissection.  Please complete the following:

- find images on fish and prawns.  These can be found by searching for "anatomy of fish/prawn".  Print an image of each and stick them in your workbook

- add notes to your images with more details about the appearance, colour, texture, location of key parts of the fish/prawn

- add general observations to your work outlining what you discovered during the dissection process

- create one or two questions about the dissection and do some research on the Internet to find the answers - why, what, where, how, when...?
