How do we group animals?

How do we group plants?

How do we group students at TC?

If we had to identify ONLY one student at TC, what classification groups could we use?

Making your own dichotomous key (follow the instructions via the links below).

In a pair, complete EITHER worksheet A or B - you will then need to swap to test if they work!

Worksheet A

Worksheet B

Find a dichotomous key that classifies something you are interested in. This may be an animal, plant or anything else you would like. If you can't find one on the internet feel free to make one for yourself.

The video below helps you to get started on creating your own dichotomous key

You will spend the lesson creating a dichotomous key that eventually divides up every member of the class according to different features.

As an example, see the link below on how a sample of random objects can be classified using a dichotomous key.
