Humans have been digging up substances for various uses for thousands of years.  These substances are known as resources, and may need no treatment (like coal), only a little cleaning (like gold) or require detailed extracting, processing and separating.  Of all Australian exports, around 35% of exports are minerals, coal and petroleum.

Rocks are made up of chemical substances called minerals. 

Research the following, and write answers to the following questions:
