Part 1 - Warm Up
'North, South, East, West'
Playing Space:  Basketball/Netball Court
Equipment:   none

Description of Activity:
Each side of court is named after one of the compass points.  Students start in the middle of the court and when teacher calls out a point, students need to run to that area as quick as possible.  Can be made into an eleimination game, eg.  last person to the area is out.

Modifications:
- "Squashed frog" :  when called, students need to lie on their back and shake their arms and legs in the air.
- "Dead fish" :  students lie on their backs completely still
- Centre:   can use the centre as another area for students to run to

Link below is a similar concept to the warm up activity.

Part 2 - Skill Progression/Development
Watch the video 'Gauntlet' - Click on the link to get a desciption of the activity

Modifications:
- Students sit where they get tagged by the ball and act as defenders for their team mates.
- Students don't have to go out once tagged.  They can return to the end of the line to attempt their run again
- Students can collect bean bags that are lying in the middle of space, opposed to getting ones in the hoop at the other end
