Doctoring/altering sport equipment is illegal in most sports/during a game.  Like most sports, standard issue equipment is only allowed during a professional match.  Find out what happens when a baseball is doctored.  How does it effect a Baseball Pitch?

Can you think of any other sports where players may have tried to alter/adjust the equipment being used?

Part 2 - Skill Progression/Development
'Partner-to-Partner Throwing'
Have class line up in two even lines so that students are opposite their partner.   Start throwing between the pair.
Modifications:
- Each time a successful catch is made, the player who caught the ball takes a step back away from their partner.  See how far the pair can get away from each other whilst still throwing and catching the ball.
- Each time the ball is dropped or doesn't make the full distance to partner the players need to reset back to where they started.

'Partner-to-Partner Pitching'
Modifications:
- Decrease distance to start
- Depending on ability of group may have to isolate upper and lower halves of body, (work on feet being stationary if players cannot hit strike out zone)
- Introduce pitching technique (use link below to help)
