A basic introdiction to quadrilaterals

Students learn their definitions and then construct quadrilaterals.

Once the quadrilaterals are constructed they can be used in the following classification games in class:

1) Relay match and label - divide the class into groups and they have to go in a relay formation to collect  a label or a shape. Teams work on matching shapes and names while each team members takes turns collecting other shapes. THe first team with a complete set wins.

2) Grouping - grouping a set of objects based on simlar traits - each student has 3 or 4 different quadrilaterals, call out a feature - e.g. has at least one right angle, two pairs of parallel sides etc. and students have to find and hold up which of their shapes has the feature.
