Under the headings of Physical Survival, Emotional Survival and Social Survival- list all of the ways the people in your stories had to survive, explaining how they fit under each heading. Now list more examples from everyday life, films/books you've read etc

OPTIONAL TASK

Present a creative, informative or persuasive PowerPoint on the following topic:

We need the assistance of others to survive.

You may use your own art work – poetry – short stories – media stories - or survival stories from this Learning Bite etc to explore this topic.

If you don’t want to present using a PowerPoint you may create a speech instead and have cue cards.

This presentation is being used to invite you to think about the concept or big idea of survival.

Which novels have you read that explore the idea of survival? If you have read The Hunger Games for example you can base your ideas on a discussion of the different types of survival in this text.

You can use fantasy texts and write about survival of characters in these texts. For example Lord of the Rings – Frodo and/or Sam.

THE TASK

You may discuss both sides of the topic and create an informative discussion or agree with one side only and create a persuasive presentation.

Your presentation can be 1 minute or up to 3 minutes.

This may be done with peers in small groups or pairs - or by yourself independently.
