Read the attached expository essay (to be attached)

Focus on the three body paragraphs (the second, third and fourth paragraphs of the essay)

Using different text colours on Word or One Note highlight these four sections of the paragraph:

1. Topic Sentence

2. Exploration of wider ideas about the context. A hint, this should be around 70% of the paragraph.

3. Evidence from a text  to support exploration (which should be around 30%)

4. Link: the sentence which wraps up the paragraph.

Make sure you send your teacher your colour coded paragraphs with a key explaining which colours relate to which section of the paragraph.

Using the paragraph planner on second page of the attached doc, come up with dot point ideas for what could be put in to the exploration and evidence sections of the paragraph.

Use Mao's Last Dancer or Touching the Void in evidence.

After doing this write a topic sentence and link sentence that introduces and wraps up ideas from the dot points.

Send to your teacher.
