Students are to read through the slides on bite one on poetic techniques. Then, they are to fill out the table attached regarding the identification and annotation of poetic techniques in The Simple Gift.

1. Using the powerpoint slides from bite one to help you, find two examples of each poetic technique covered in class in the Simple Gift.

2. On the table provided, students to note the page number and quote from the Simple Gift for each.

3. For each poetic technique covered, students are to answer the questions; What effect does this technique have on the reader?
