Follow the PowerPoint slides (below) for information regarding the following activities:

1. Write answers to the following questions: What are the key features of Reality TV? What draws the viewer into Reality TV? Why do we watch it?.

2. Watch the YouTube clip of promo from Celebrity Apprentice Australia. Then, read the quote from Washington Post article about the reality of Reality TV.

3. Students are then to answer the questions in writing from the slide titled "Is Reality TV Real?"

Follow the PowerPoint slides (below) for information regarding the following activities:

1. To assess the students' background knowledge of Reality TV, ask the class: What are the key features of Reality TV? What draws the viewer into Reality TV? Why do we watch it?. Students are to use Think, Ink, Pair, Share to do this.

2. Show the class YouTube clip of promo from Celebrity Apprentice Australia. Then, provide quote from Washington Post article about the reality of Reality TV. Students are to read and discuss.

3. Students are then to answer the questions in writing from the slide titled "Is Reality TV Real?".

4. Students are to fill out the Hunger Games Links Table (see below).

5. Circle of Knowledge: Arrange chairs so that the class is sitting in a circle. Pose the following questions for the class to discuss: Why was Katniss pressured to keep up her romance with Peeta? Who did this situation benefit? Why did the Capital keep interfering with the Games (i.e.surprise weather conditions, events and changes to the rules)? Were the Games entertainment or War? Who's polint of view do you take? Were the games depicting reality or something else? Who's reality was it?
