Chapter 16

The boys head out with their rats hoping to sell them.

Aidan, Bernard (the Rafferty twins 'A' and 'B'), Gordie and Frankie.

5. Megan Johnson and Frankie - is she right about why Frankie has been avoiding her? Final line p 135

Chapter 17

This is an important chapter - two main events occur both which impact on Frankie's life as well as Mickey.

1. Maggie has the plague - read the final page 154. What does Maggie say to Frankie that makes him feel so guilty?

2. Read this chapter in class then discuss the following :

Morality - are Mickey's actions justified? 

Home learning or preparation for next class - argue for or against Mickey and what he has done.

1. Home learning or preparation for next class - argue for or against Mickey and what he has done. Imagine you had to defend or prosecute Mickey - what points would you raise?

2. Try to predict what will happen next?

Will Mickey go to jail? 

Will Frankie ever forgive himself if his sister Maggie dies?

How would you feel if you were in Frankie's position?
