REFLECTION or what you have already :

1. You have two body paragraphs - one on Edward Scissorhands and one on Billy Elliot.

2. You should have another paragraph from a supplementary text of your choice or from the teacher Ten Things I Hate About Me.

Structure of  Expository essay :

Prompt : It is difficult to belong

Introduction - discuss both sides of prompt - use a quote to sum up an interesting relevant idea.

Body paragraph one

Topic sentence Not all people find it easy to fit in. (3-4  sentences or more discussing with examples from media, your own experience or the experience of others e.g. moving to new school, being different and not being accepted, bullying etc) Then use Edward Scissorhands as your evidence in 2-3 sentences.

Body paragraph two

Topic sentence Yet some individuals have the strength to be who they want to be without the approval of others. (3-4 sentences or more discussing with examples from media, your own experience or the experience of others e.g. true individuals who lead society to change their outlook) Then use Billy Elliot as your evidence in 2-3 sentences.

Body paragraph three

Topic sentence - your choice - both sides of prompt? A different viewpoint? Same structure as above - first discussion of ideas - then evidence.

Supplementary - Body paragraph three - can be teacher supplementary or your own choice.
