CHECKLIST

Do you have stories in your newspaper that relate to key incidents in the novel?

Have you researched key aspects of life in Australia in the 1900's to add variety and depth to your newspaper?

Are there advertisements? Are they authentic?

Remember this is partly an imaginative story so you CAN make up ideas - for example :

Horse bolts down George street, injuring many. (remember few cars)

Child abandoned on street. (lack of children's rights)

Mr Hardcastle leaves Sydney abruptly.

Plague outbreak.

This is just a few of the many possibilities but remember headlines are supposed to be dramatic!

Look at some in the Herald Sun for example.
