The exam is divided into 3 sections.

You will have the option of writing a full essay OR a paragraph.

SECTION 1 EXPOSITORY writing on the theme of Belonging.

You will be asked to either write a full essay OR a paragraph.

You will need to go over your notes on the film texts Billy Elliot and Edward Scissorhands. 

SECTION 2 TEXT RESPONSE on The Black Dog Gang by Robert Newton.

You will need to respond to an essay topic.

You may write a full essay OR a paragraph or more.

You will need to read over your notes on this topic.

SECTION 3 HISTORY The plague in medieval times.

You will be asked to write either an informative or creative piece on this.

Whichever you choose, you must demonstrate understanding of facts studied in your class.

For example :

When did the plague begin in Europe?

How was it spread?

What did the people at this time think caused the plague?

What 'cures' did they try?

How would our scientific advances have helped them?

Were there any positive results because of the plague? (Yes there were but why?)
