Using the collection of stories NMIT TIME TO WRITE, find the stories that use the one line beginnings in previous class.

Choose the line or story you like best.

Comment on the following :

1. What is the setting?

2. How does the writer engage your interest?

3. Is there description of place, mood, character?

4. What else would you say is positive about the story you have chosen? Does it deserve a place in the collection?

Using the first story how does the writer use historical facts about World War 1 to create a highly personal story?

Start thinking of ideas you can use from History classes on War to create a story based on fact.
