Watch this Video Question.

With a friend or family member discuss how the news isn't always the full story.

What impact does that have on you?

How do you decide what is news?

Use shark attack/ inverted pyramid sheet to explain how news stories are structured. Also look at examples from local papers.

Students are to begin planning a news article to appear in the paper the day after the novel Camel Rider finishes.

Start planning by outlining the:

WHO:

WHAT:

WHERE:

WHEN:

WHY:

HOW:

of the story. Then decide which characters could be interviewed and what they might say.

Visit the ABC TV's Q&A website to research some of the current and upcoming presenters. Watch some of the questions that people have asked in the past to create your own.

You have the option of submitting this to the website.

Have your questions and video proof read first before submitting.

Consider how the question can be or may be related to the Camel Rider and the context of the Middle East.
