Consider what you have learnt in the two previous two bites about how to analyse a character. What do you look for? What they say is one thing, but what else do you look for?

Come up with three adjectives to describe Adam and Walid at the beginning of the novel- avoid words like 'mean' or 'sad' try to expand your vocab by checking for synonyms on Word or consulting online resources.

Now come up with three words to describe Walid and Adam at the end.

For each event that you have come up with, find an incident or quote that supports it.

Now come up with three events for each character that cause them to change from how they are at the start to how they are at the end.

You need to find a way of representing both Adam and Walid's journey graphically- perhaps in a poster form. Ask your teacher to email you a few suggestions either on the board or via email.

How can you turn the graphic interpretation into a paragraph?

Try starting with a topic sentence such as:

(Adam/Walid) begin the novel (insert one of your 'early in the novel' adjectives here) but develop into  (insert one of your 'later in the novel' adjectives here) due to (insert incident here)

Submit your paragraph to your teacher.
