Read the inverted pyramid/shark attack story sheet attached. Note that the reasons why all the important info must come at the start of a story,e.g.advertising space sold at last minute, late-breaking news coming in at the last minute.

Read the shark story below and all the annotations at the side. Consider how they relate to the inverted pyramid.


Choose a news story from a newspapers and find the

who?

what?

where?

when?

why?

How?

in the story and list these on a  separate sheet.

List the witnesses/experts used and note how quotes from witnesses/experts are set up and used

Send this to your teacher and bring them a copy of the story for the next time you are in class.
