Student is to start developing their visual timeline that is focused on including their values and beliefs. They can use powerpoint-include pictures, films, audio. They need to give descriptive reasons on why/how they have gained these values/beliefs. Descriptive sentances need to be included on each value/belief.

Talk to parents/peers and do some research on what values and beliefs are. Write down a list of what you believe are your main values, e.g. education, friendship, teamwork etc

Students are to look up timelines on google and look for a lay out that would successfully allow for a timeline that includes the details below:

Students are to start creating a timeline that includes values and beliefs they have acquired over the years. E.g, I became a more responsible individual after looking after my first pet, which I got when I was 8. You should also include a statement about how this incident has shaped how you act today, e.g. I always make sure if I take on a new project or hobby I follow through on the responsibilities that come with it, e.g. I started archery recently and have been practicing as much as possible and lookign after my equipment carefully.

Then you could place in a small image of your pet and/or you doing archery.

Include about 6 to 8 events in chronological (date) order.

Finish and submit the timeline to your teacher.

2. Develop your personal timeline.

Include the key events that made you the person that you are today.

Examples of things to be included are:

births of siblings, camps, a good christmas, happy things, sad things, pets, important occasions, meeting someone for the first time, moving house. Anything that has had an effect on you or others around you.

Use your preferred method of presenting this. Possible methods using computers may include Prezi, OneNote, word or flash. You could also choose your own method of producing this.

A timeline is a visual representation of events, and can be used to record ANY series of events in chronological order. Examples of timelines could include: ‘The History of Mankind’, ‘Timeline of Templestowe College’, ‘History of the Olympics’, ‘The Life of Justin Bieber’ etc.

As the word ‘timeline’ suggests, events in ‘time’ are presented on a ‘line’.

A timeline with detailed descriptions and images is usually more interesting and easier to understand, however a timeline can also be very simple. View this website to learn more about the basics of making a timeline:

1. What is a timeline?

2. Why are timelines important? What do they show us?

3. For a timeline to be useful what does it need to include?
