View the rest of the Oliver Twist film techniques powerpoint (attached) and do the quiz in the powerpoint, sending your answers to your teacher. Also send paragraph responses to the three FURTHER DISCUSSION slides at the end of the powerpoint.

Students will be review the narrative and production elements involved in Film Analysis by viewing the Oliver Twist film techniques powerpoint and doing the quiz in the powerpoint THEN completing the following activities:

Camera

Lighting

Acting

Music

Editing

In groups students will discuss what these mean and how they are used within Oliver Twist. Have a class discussion and re-watch of key scenes that students identify as using the above techniques in a notable way.

Students will discuss how these narrative elements effect how meaning is created in Oliver Twist. Have a class discussion and a re-watch of any key scenes necessary. Also discuss the screen shots from the three FURTHER DISCUSSION slides on the powerpoint.

As a class read over the suggestions for each paragraph of the review (which is on the task sheet, attached to the Viewing Table sheet given out before watching the film) Discuss what may go in each paragraph (using viewing notes as a guide) and write down some dot point notes of what you will include in each.

Your teacher may help ou with some sentence starters, vocab on the board as you start writing each paragraph.
