Go to the eat for health website using the link below and read the key points about the Australian guide to healthy eating.

Summarize what the key points are.

Using the Guide to Healthy Eating and a typical day in your life assess your eating habits.

You may like to draw your own 5 food group circle and place your diet in the respective sections.

Review your model and assess whether your diet is healthy and balanced.

What possible changes could you make to improve your diet based on your findings?

Survey the eating habits of the members of your family or a small group of people.

Using your findings from the survey group and the 5 Food Groups and the Healthy Eating Plate Model, answer the following questions;

Do the people surveyed enjoy a healthy and balanced diet?

If your answer is no then suggest changes to their diet.

Learn the key vocabulary terms - learn the meaning, spelling and how to say them.  With another student practice the meaning, spelling and pronunciation.  You may like to quiz another student.

Google the basic nutrient categories, fats, proteins, carbohydrates, minerals and vitamins and research the foods that these nutrients are found in.  Present your findings using a graphic.

Research what the 5 Food Groups  are using the following link.

Click on the tab How am I doing and complete the quiz. What result did you get?  Do you need to make any changes to your diet based on the 5 Food Groups and suggested servings?  What would you change?
