Fractional indices

Reason For Learning

The procedure to take square roots or cube roots of quantities is used often when determining dimensions of an object with a known area or volume. In this lesson, we see that fractional indices can be interpreted as taking the appropriate root of a given quantity.

In this lesson, we look at a rule that states that a quantity raised to a fractional index can be rewritten as the appropriate root of that quantity.
