Unit 1 - Note Form Summary and Language Analysis - Introduction

Reason For Learning

For the VCE EAL exams, you will need to know how to make clear notes which summarise the main points in a brief text without using full English sentences. You will also need to understand how to write in the strict structure of a language analysis, which is a four-paragraph piece of prose. In this language analysis, you will show your knowledge of how certain words and visuals might effect the audience.

Learning Intention

By the end of this learning bite, and after having completed relevant classwork and home learning, you will be able to produce a clear layout showing the main points of a brief text. You will also be able to show in clear English sentences and using appropriate vocabulary, your knowledge of how the words and visuals chosen by a writer might effect a reader.
