Geometry: Angle sum of a quadrilateral

Reason For Learning

To develop an understanding of the angle properties of triangles and quadrilaterals. A deep understanding of triangles is an essential basis for Pythagoras’ Theorem and trigonometry.

Learning Intention

Angle sum: The angles in a triangle add to 180˚ (recap only) and those in a quadrilateral add to 360˚. (Note: There is a separate Learning Bite about angles in a triangle) To use this information to calculate unknown angles in triangles and quadrilaterals. To solve more complex, unfamiliar problems involving the angles in triamngles and quadrilaterals.
