Sketching Linear Graphs: The X and Y-intercept Method

Reason For Learning

There are two ways to draw straight line graphs without using a table of values. The first method is called the gradient intercept method. This is useful when the line is written in the form y = mx + c, where m is the gradient and c is the y-intercept. The second method is called the X and Y-intercept method. It is useful if the line is not written in the form y = mx + c. Remember, we only need to know two points in order to sketch a straight line.

Learning Intention

I can use the gradient intercept method and/or the X and Y-intercept method to graph straight lines.
