Equation of a Straight Line: Finding the Gradient of a Line Passing through Two Points

Reason For Learning

Any two points can be connected to create a straight line. It is possible to figure out the gradient (or slope) of that line and determine how steep it is. This can be found by calculating the ratio of the vertical distance to the horizontal distance between any two points on the line (or more commonly referred to as 'rise over run').

Learning Intention

I can find the slope of a line created by any two points by determining rise over run.
