Unit 4 - Galvanic Cells: Recharging: Primary & Secondary Cells

Reason For Learning

Electricity can be generated from chemical reactions, it is important that the chemist is able to use the electrochemical series to predict the products of redox reactions and then be able to write half equations. We should also be aware of the limitations of predictions made using the electrochemical series.

Learning Intention

After completing this learning bite you should be able to; Use the electrochemical series to predict redox reactions in aqueous solutions. Write half and full equations for redox reactions. Describe the limitations of using the electrochemical series.
