Unit 3 - Acid/ Base Theory, pH Indicators

Reason For Learning

Students need to know about analysing acids and bases. This will include Volumetric analysis, simple and back titrations, acid-base indicators.

Learning Intention

Students should be able to write balanced chemical equations fro acid-base reactions. They will be able to identify a substance acting as an acid or a base. Students will recall that pH is a measure of the strength of an acid or base. Explain and understand the reason for the selection of a particular indicator. Students should also be able to perform stoichiometric calculations for volumetric analyses involving acids and bases.
