Unit 1 - Ionic Bonding

Reason For Learning

The way that the atoms in a material are bonded together directly affects it's properties and performance. We are going to learn about the formation of ions, and the importance and limitations of the ionic bonding model.

Learning Intention

After completing this learning bite you will be able to use chemical language to write the formulae of most ionic compounds. You will also have a basic understanding of the relationship between the structure and bonding of ionic materials and their properties.
