Reason For Learning
The billion of substances in the universe are all made up of just 100 or so elements. By understanding how the elements combine to form new substances, scientists can develop useful materials such as plastics, perfumes and medicines. Scientists can also synthesise natural materials such as vitamins, flavours and even blood in the laboratory.
Learning Intention
By the completion of the lesson students should be able to explain the differences between gaseous mixtures, liquid mixtures and alloys and provide some examples of each.
